Hello. For operation with the brush blade, do not cut anything thicker than 1/2 inch or a violent kickback could occur. Thank you for your question.

I have used this attachment to clear the dead ferns in my asparagus beds, cut green briar vines, and various other brush types up to 3/4". I've found the best way to use this tool is to use a left to right motion on the growth being cut. It is not designed to cut large growth in a single sweeping motion. You must chip away at it using several back and forth motions. Hope this helps....
