Assuming this is meant for indoor use only, I would like to try using this as an outdoor table top. How long is the wood and metal expected to last?


You are correct that it is intended for indoor use only. Length of time it would hold up outdoors would depend on exposure to the elements – sun, rain, snow, humidity, heat, cold etc. It will last longer if it can be covered when not in use.
