Does it work for really small mouse?

No. I had a full grown mouse go in and eat the bait. It was not enough weight to close the door and trap him.

Yes which was why I was never able to catch the mice with the spring loaded bait traps. Law of leverage.... When the mouse gets inside where the bait is located and tips the trap downward the door shuts and mouse is there until released.

We have caught baby mice before but it does not always work like it would with a larger mouse (not necessarily an adult)..

the mice i caught were sooo tiny, so i would say yes.

No, they are not heavy enough to trip the door.

Yes. We caught a baby mouse. It basically functions like a simple lever. Any weight pushes he back end down and the trap is quickly closed.

It all depends on the weight of the mouse. If it's heavy enough, it will trip the trap door. It's a very sensitive trap, so it doesn't take much weight to close the trap door. I'm guessing pretty much any wild mouse is going to set it off.
