How do you empty trap ?

I have only caught one mole so far with this type of trap, The only way is to force the trap as though you are resetting it - I think I pushed it against a tree and let the mole fall out. I find the trap difficult to set and prefer the all metal ones which set much more easily by just stepping on them.
