If you replace the hdd, what format does it need to be in and what are the hdd speed requirements?


Hi Jason. This 16 channel NVR has space inside it to install two hard drives in total (including the one that is pre-installed). If you wish to add or replace the existing hard drive you would want to purchase a 3.5" SATA surveillance-grade drive from a reputable brand such as Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba etc. You would open up the NVR case, plug in the SATA cable that's already inside the case, & secure the hard drive to the base plate of the NVR using 4 screws. The NVR menu will allow you to format the hard drive after it's installed. -SD, Swann Team.
