What is the reason this product is nit recommended over vinyl? We have about 800 SF of linoleum/inyl that we'd like to install the plank on top of.


Hello Howard and thanks for your question. This Style Selections Luxury Vinyl Plank is an interlocking plank that is designed to float on any concrete, wood, or sheet vinyl substrates. If installing directly on concrete, we do require a 6 mil polyethylene plastic vapor barrier between the subfloor and plank. The existing vinyl floors that this product is not recommended over is floating, loose lay, or any cushion or padded vinyl that will create deflection/ bouncing in the flooring. We recommend reviewing the Installation and Warranty Guides (which are found in the carton, or on the product page of the Lowe's website). Hopefully this helps.
