Is the height adjustable.

The height of the two shelves is adjustable, and since the pole that the clothes hang on is attached to the top shelf that means that is adjustable too (but only with the top shelf). I don't think that the metal poles are adjustable, though, so that would mean you would still have pole sticking up even if you brought the top shelf down. I liked the shelf all the way to the top so this wasn't an issue for me. The adjustment of the shelves was not easy, however, and my husband had to use some strength to move the bottom shelf to where I wanted it.
