Which 4x4 post works with this? The directions say 5’ but the standard anchor post is only 39”.

A 4"x4"x5' pressure treated post is recommended.The post needs to set about 2 feet into the ground. It's recommended the post be backfilled with concrete. But before you do, make sure the section of post above ground is not too long. Stand the mailbox next to it and if it's still too long, dig a little deeper. You can be a little less picky if you have a good circular saw that can cut through a 4x4 post. Once completed, the base of the mailbox should sit flush with the ground.
