Does is provide protection from small load surges?

Hello Tilley. HEPD80 is considered as a whole house surge protective device. I am quite unsure of what you mean by small load surges. They are designed to deliver superior AC surge protection for all connected equipment in the home especially for expensive equipment that can't be connected to surge strips such as HVACs, hot water heaters, stoves/ovens, SPAs, and pool components. Once the HEPD is installed on panels that enter and leave the home it's still recommended to use point of use (Type 3) surge protection for critical components such as TVs, PCs, game consoles, printers, modems, AV equipment, ect.
