I need this in just a 2 conductor plus ground to wire my welder (220V/50A circuit)...any recommendations for what I should use?


You probably want the 6/2 for that, which is Lowe's model 70134. No reason to pay for extra copper you're not using in this day and age!

If you can't find the 6/2, just use this and don't wire up the third wire.
