Southwire 50-ft 14 / 2 / Romex SIMpull Solid Indoor CU NM-B Individual pack ( By-the-roll )
should this be run in conduit for exposed runs in a garage

Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes—NM‑B (Romex) may be used in a garage, but if the cable is exposed where it could be subject to physical damage, the NEC requires it to be protected in conduit or otherwise shielded. Was this Answer Helpful ? Check your local building code or talk to your local building inspector, in my community conduit is not necessary inside for this 14/2 wire.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Yes. All exposed wire should be placed into conduit to protect it and prevent accidental cutting or rodent gnawing. No exposure makes less opportunity for fire hazards as well.
