Was this Answer Helpful ? That depends on if your tub is on 120 or 240. If it is indoors in a bathroom and a 120 circuit, then yes, this wire will work for this application.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Your question doesn't have enough information to provide a good answer. The voltage and current requirements of the whirlpool tub are needed.
Was this Answer Helpful ?no I would use 10/3
Was this Answer Helpful ?No. Most whirlpools are 50 amp/ 250 volt. 6/2w ground would be the correct size
Was this Answer Helpful ?Always use what the manufacturer recommends. If you don't have the user manual for the tub, you can most likely find it online or contact the manufacturer. DO NOT skimp or take shortcuts on whirlpool tubs! They use a very high amount of amperage and electricity and could overheat if not properly installed or if the wrong wiring is used. I do have experience in this as I have a spa, so I do know how important it is to use the proper wiring and methods to meet code and manufacturer requirements.
Was this Answer Helpful ?It really depends on the tub. If it has a heater it will probably need a 240 circuit, otherwise it should just plug into a GFCI outlet. The size of the tub is also important. Your documentation should say how many amps are required, but 20 amps should be sufficient for most whirlpool tubs. The 12-2 wire you selected would be sufficient for a dedicated 20-amp circuit.
