Is 10/2 wire ok for electric range

Hello, and thank you for your question. No — 10/2 NM‑B cannot be used for an electric range, because modern ranges require a 240‑V 4‑wire circuit (two hots, neutral, and ground), while 10/2 provides only one hot, one neutral, and a ground. If you have any additional questions or feedback, please reach out to us at consumersupport@southwire.com.

NO! Not only is 10-2 NM-B cable too small, but it is also 2 conductors short of what is required for an electric range. Most electric ranges require a 40 amp circuit which would require 8-3 NM-B cable and some ranges require a 50 amp circuit which would require 6-3 NM-B cable. You MUST have two insulated hot conductors, one insulated neutral conductor and one grounding conductor in the circuit.
