Southwire 1000-ft 14 / 2 / Romex SIMpull Solid Indoor CU NM-B Individual pack ( By-the-roll )
How wide is the wire? I need to drill through to my basement and i need to know if a 3/8 bit is wide enough to pass the wire through.

Hi, happy to help. The Southwire 14/2 Romex SIMpull NM-B cable has an approximate OD of 0.372x0.17/6. A 3/8" drill bit (0.375") will be too small, so the wire will not pass through easily. Please let us know if you need help in any other way by contacting us at consumersupport@southwire.com.
Was this Answer Helpful ? Typically I would drill 3/4" holes for all 15 and 20 amp 120 volt branch circuits. If space for the hole is restricted, I wouldn't advise drilling a hole smaller than 1/2". Remember, you still need 1 1/4" clearance from the nailing surface.
