Was this Answer Helpful ? IF the garage is attached this 6-3 NM-B cable can feed a subpanel for the apartment. It must be protected at no more than 60 amps. IF the garage is detached this 6-3 NM-B cable will not work because it is only approved for dry locations. Outside and underground conduits are classes as wet locations.
