The DC voltage settings on this meter are 1.5V & 9V. Does this mean it is unsafe to use on higher DC voltage such as automotive applications?


No. The 1.5 & 9v are common DC Voltage ranges so those have been included. You can simply change the range for DC Voltage if you need to measure above those 2 ranges.
