can i put rubber mats or non-slip rugs on a pergo floor?

Hello! For area rugs and mats, we recommend not to use natural rubber or latex. A certain percentage of natural rubber and latex added to the floor can cause discoloration. Urethane backed rugs are good. Felt backed are also good. If you have a rug you like that has a backing you are unsure of, you can use a rug pad so it won’t touch the floor. Anything with the Mohawk Home logo (rugs or rug pads) will not harm the floor. Our rug pad uses a slight bit of rubber, but we control the content and know it is non-staining.
