For ridgid 12gal vac does this require a filter cap


This filter does not require a cap or nut.

No, it is closed at the other end. The filter is held in place by friction and doesn't use the locking bolt/nut like the old filter did. But I think it will work fine and is snug enough that it won't vibrate off.

MY RIDGE 6 HP 16GAL DOES ALSO, BUT I DID NOT NEED IT. THE FILTER FIT SNUG TO THE HOUSING. I DID HOW EVER KEEP THOSE PARTS.

This just pushes on using a rubber gasket. The filter is longer so it covers to bolt that was used to hold on the original filter. Seems to work OK for me.

This has a solid bottom so no cap is required
