Can it be used on regular PVC or does it have to be the CVPC


Hello - Our brass SharkBite Push-to-Connect fittings with the tan colored release collars should only be used with type K, L or M rigid copper pipe complying with standard ASTM B88. These fittings are also suitable for use with the following types of pipe/tubing: PEX (ASTM F876, CSA B137.5), CPVC (ASTM D 2846, CSA B137.6), PE-RT (ASTM F 2769), and HDPE (SDR-9 ASTM D2737). These fittings will not work with PVC piping. We offer a transition coupling that goes from PVC to CTS that is identified with a white colored release collar.
