Haven't had to do that yet, but there is a drain tube that you pull out before you open it. It looks like it might be about 6" long? They show it being done in the User Guide without the pedestal.
Was this Answer Helpful ?After trial and error I solved it using a plastic sandwich container (same reason - pedestal unnecessary expense). It does seem as if buyers are being guided towards buying the pedestal unit doesn't it. Still, it's not difficult and only takes a couple of minutes.
