Should the seams of this padding Be stapled?


I as installer don't recommend tape over staple because had to repair from previous installer, customer complaining clicking noise when walking and it was tape sticking to staple and when walk away you can here the click noise tape release from tape. I would staple edge and duck tape on seams. The idea is so pad is light doesn't shift sideways or move while installing the carpet.

The instructions are on the pad itself. Stapled and taped. my installer just stapled and didn't put tape. Which I think the installer should have used tape as well.
