BIT speed rating


The recommended RPM will vary depending on the diameter of the bit you are using. As a rule of thumb bits no larger than 1" should be used at the router's maximum speed of approximately 24,000 RPM. The larger diameter bits1"-2" should be used at a maximum speed of approximately 18,000 RPM. Often running bits slower can, with certain materials, produce a better finish.
