why would you not make a skate plate that can be used on both left- and right- bladed saws? i wouldn't buy two but i would pay a bit more for one.

We produce 2 versions of the SkatePlate due to the significant differences between the left blade and right blade saws. The saw's base plates on left blade saws are much longer and narrower than right blade saws and it's not possible to accommodate these difference in both versions with one SkatePlate. By manufacturing 2 versions, we were able to make SkatePlate more universal and fit over 95% of all 7 1/4" circular saws (corded and cordless) plus several 6 1/2" models.
