Will this product remove iron stains from painted clapboard on my house without damage to the paint or wood?

We recommend applying a thick coat with a paint brush to the surface and allow the stripper to do the work. For oil-based coatings allow up to 24 hours before removing paint. Gently scrape in direction of wood grain with a plastic stripping tool. For stubborn areas, use an abrasive stripping pad dipped into Klean-Strip Green Paint & Varnish Stripper. Use water as a wash to remove remaining residue. Surface should be completely clean and dry before refinishing.

Every surface is different, so always apply on an inconspicuous area before using. Spray surrounding plants and grass with water before and after use.
