Happy to help! In order to use Rust-Oleum Automotive High Heat, you will need to heat cure the product. You'll need to bake the product in an industrial oven at 250 degrees for 30 minutes, then allow 30 minutes to cool. You'll then need to bake the paint at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and allow 30 minutes to cool. Lastly, you'll want to bake the paint at 600 degrees for 30 minutes and then allow 30 minutes to cure. Please keep in mind, that since this is a primer, it will need to be top coated to ensure proper performance and adhesion. If unable to heat the coating as needed, we recommend the Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat line, which can be used over bare wood or previously coated surfaces in good condition. The surface will need to be heated to well above 200°F to fully cure the coating. We also recommend it for the exterior of smokers only. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchTerm=rust+oleum+specialty+high+heat
Was this Answer Helpful ?Absolutely. Smokers do not reach anywhere near the heat of the stove on which I used it.
