Is it necessary to have the monthly monitoring? I'm looking for a system that will alert my phone in the event of an alarm with out the monthly fee.


Hello, great question. The Ring Protect Plan is optional and not needed to use the Ring Alarm. Please note to be able to have the professional monitoring feature you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan that starts at 10/month or $100/year.
