Why is this 4-prong when my generator has a 3-prong 30 amp outlet?


It's for 220v if your generator provides that output. Four lugs are: 110v + 110v + Neutral + ground.

I found my answer. My two inverter generators put out 30 amps in parallel but only 125vac. This is why I have a 3 prong plug.
