As of 12/31/2020 I can state that NO it is NOT 3.7 inches after mounting. Nor is it that long overall. The description that it is 3.7" is WRONG.

Yes, the portion that mounts to the wall or floor is 3.7 then you have the spring that mounts to the door that sticks out about an inch.
