What battery is used for backup?


The Rain Bird SST Controller uses an internal coin cell battery, which stores the date and time. If the timer doesn’t have AC power for more than a week, the time needs to be reset, which conserves battery power for future outages. Program details are kept in long term nonvolatile memory, so they are not lost even after long power outages.
