Is there a certain way you are supposed to attach the bottom to the trap to keep the yellow jackets from escaping? They are swarming but not in trap.

You should only need to screw the cap onto the bottom of the chamber. If you have swarming yellowjackets, try moving your trap to an area with better airflow.
