Do you think this will work in catching the annual cicada wasp killers?

I doubt it. These traps work well but they are very limited as to what kinds of wasps and hornets they catch. All you can do is buy the trap and find out. After you have the trap if the attractant doesn't attract your particular type then you will have to experiment to find out what they are attracted to. For instance I put lunch meat in some of my traps because some of the paper wasps in my area don't care for the commercial attractant.

Never heard of that kind before, but almost all insect killers will kill any type of insects. Ant and roach kills wasp, spiders, etc... Wasp kills termites,

yes its been killing much more than just flies
