will this work on a house supply line under ground?

I'm not a plumber, but I personally wouldn't use something like this underground except as a temporary fix. Rubber can rot, etc. I also found on one connection I made, we hadn't quite dried all the pipes well and a little moisture got under the rubber and the connection failed. I assume was my fault as it wasn't fully dry, but again, just would want to glue underground myself.
