Can you use this valve on a potable water line? In particular, on a main water line to a house?


Yes, this can be used on a potable water line, as long as the pressure from the supply side is at least 2 PSI in order to open the spring. As long as the pressure from the supply side is greater than that of the downstream side, the spring will stay open. If the pressure from the downstream side is greater than that of the supply side, the spring will close, preventing backflow.
