Can this be used on water lines that have well water coming through?


I did some alterations to my 1" home supply line (60 psi). The original setup had one of these on it for 35 years. I installed a new one with the alterations I made. It is perfectly fine for such use IF you adhere to one important consideration. You MUST restrain the two pipes to keep them from being pushed apart by the pressure. The pressure specifications guarantee the part won't leak or break under specified pressure--it does not guarantee that it won't slip off if the pipes are able to move apart. In my case one end of the line is buried, the other end is restrained by the well casing--"it ain't going nowhere".
