Was this Answer Helpful ?No. (refers to 12 gallon clear tote with hinged lid) The lids are much like pushing your hands together so that the fingers interlock. There is no way that I can see that these could convert to hanging file storage of the totes. As for storing 8-1/2 by 11 hanging files inside, there is room, but there are no rails and no "notches" for rails in the totes.
