Prime WIre's answer of 500mA can't be right. That would mean it draws ~60 watts just to turn the dial! which would be as much as a 60w light bulb. I plugged this item into a Kill a Watt P4400 device which measures AC volts, current, watts, KWHr. (Lowe's used to sell them). It read 1 Watt which is ~ 10mA. That seems much more reasonable for an item that is silent, turns very slowly (1 revolution / day!), and doesn't heat up.

Called Utilitech, they didn't know. Called the manufacturer, Prime Wire, and they said that it draws 500mA.
