Can dimmable LED bulbs be used?


An update on my answer of August 2016. I have installed LED GU10 bulbs in my track heads and they work fine. No reason not to use a dimmer as long as the bulbs you buy are rated for use with a dimmer. Be aware, a LED dimmer is required if you are dimming LED bulbs.

the question is can LED bulbs period be used. I have looked into this and it appears that some LED bulbs have what appear to be cooling holes on the outer face of the bulb and the cap that holds in the bulb could cover them. That aside I had a Lowes salesperson help me try a LED bulb in one of the bulb sockets. It fit and went back together okay but I am still waiting for a reasonable priced gu10 LED bulb before I try it. It should work but there is no definitive info out there that I have found.
