Can someone please explain why the socket is stamped with "250W 250V" but the instructions state that the maximum incandescent bulb wattage is 60?


The socket is rated for a higher watt and voltage than the fixture as a whole. The maximum rating for the light takes into consideration the wiring, the connections, and the socket.
