Which side of this cord is neutral ?

I am not an expert but I wired both ways and the lamp still lit. It may depend on the lamp but I don't really think that the polarity is affected by which screw it is attached to. I believe that the tips should be left on just to keep the wires intact but you would have to bend part of it around the screw. I may be wrong here simply because I cut those tips off in order to strip the plastic from the wire. Afterwards, I wished I had not.

Neutral is the wire without writing on it. The hot side of the plug should be the small blade.
