The picture with the door handle shows the mortise lock with the hook much lower than the position of the hook in the other pictures. Which is right?

Not quite. After learning more about this, I realize that, when the lever to lock the door is moved, the hook first comes out in the low position and then slides upward. So both pictures are correct, but clarifying that in the photo captions would help customers select the right product.
