do you use adhesive for installation?


Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line. This item is held in place by a framing piece that attaches to your door frame. It is unscrewed, the sweep is positioned and then the framing piece secured. You can use a mildew resistance adhesive if you wish. Please see an associate at your local Lowe's Paint Department to suggest one.

I did not use adhesive for the installation. While I don't believe it's necessary, it could up in certain applications. Unfortunately, the gap between my door and threshold was fairly large, about 0.75", it wouldn't have installed well with adhesive. In my opinion, without using adhesive, you can adjust the door sweep at a later time.
