Is it normal that the product has strong odor and the mulch is covered with white stuff? Will this harm other mulch and invite termites?

I am very sorry that our mulch that you purchased has a strong odor and has a white mold or mildew on the wood. This is very disappointing to us as it is not the type of quality we expect from this product. I have provided a copy of this email correspondence to our managers for their information. The mold substance that you see on the product is a natural growth that may occur on natural wood products such as mulch; especially if stored outdoors or in a moist environment. I am using this, and while it has some odor, there has never been any "white stuff" on the mulch....It could be mold??
