Is this a true sine wave inverter?

No, its the earlier synthetic sinewave. I've learned from shopping that the pure wave inverters cost about 30 percent more. Real question is it worth the extra cost? Most "stuff" runs fine on synthetic/psuedo wave. I did note an annoying buzzzzz in a portable fan (thought a bearing was failing), but my portable airconditioner, microwave and frig all worked fine. Note: I didn't run the frig or microwave for extended periods--didn't want to press my luck testing on high value appliances...
