What is the recommended method to install this mailpost?


Pre-mix concrete (aka Quickrete) is the method recommended by the manufacturer.

Use a 4x4 treated wood post and Quickcrete fast-setting mix. Pour dry concrete in, pour in water and make sure your post is level. Very simple.

The polyvinyl post will not support the mailbox adequately on its own. You may support your 4"x4" wooden post in concrete, then slide the polyvinyl post over it. Secure the post to the 4x4 with the four screws and plastic caps provided.

A wooden post is needed to slide the PVC post over. It will slide over a standard 4x4 post or you can use (2) 2x4 posts nailed together. It is recommended that the post be set 18 inches into the ground and 18 min - 24max inches above ground.
