Why do bulbs burn out so quickly?

It's my understanding that the oil on your hands may shorten the life of the bulbs. Try a pair of disposable gloves when changing bulbs.

Hello and Thank you for your question. The life expectancy of the bulbs are .3 years (based on 3 hrs/day). The bulbs should not be handled with your bare hands. The oil from your skin can cause a shorter bulb life. It is recommended to use a soft cloth when handling the bulbs.
