The clamp opens 4". When you open the clamp completely the black handles are touching and the distance between the clamp end with the orange is 4". Why do you call it a 2-in Spring Clamp?

Dear Customer, Thank you for your question. When the #3262 spring clamp is fully opened, with the black handles touching together, the maximum opening size is approximately 2-3/4 inches. When you are using to clamp an object of this maximum size, it becomes difficult to open and remove the object since the handles are already touching.
