When smoking (e.i. brisket, ribs, pork butt) do open the flame broiler slider or keep it closed? Taking forever to get meat up to temp with it closed.

The flame broiler slide plate should only be open when searing. Otherwise, it needs to be closed. Double-check the internal temperature of the unit and you may need to bump up the temperature to speed up the cooking time of the meat.
