I read only need underlayment if installing over concrete or vinyl and not needed for subfloor

when i read the official answer, I was troubled. I thought I would need a thick underlayment. 6 mils equals 0.1524 mm so pergo gold is more than adequate! I wish they made that more clear.

Thank you for your interest in Pergo. If you have a concrete subfloor, a 6 mil vapor barrier would normally be required. Since the TimberCraft laminate does not have a pre-attached pad, we suggest using the Pergo Gold underlayment, which would work as a moisture barrier, as well as additional sound reducer.
