Does the split cycle return automatically or do you have to hold the lever for it to return?

The control valve operation should be: Push forward to split, when released the valve should return to the neutral position, then push back to return the cylinder. The valve should stay in the return position until the cylinder is completely closed, then return to neutral(this is the Auto-Return feature).
