Is there a trouble shooting manual water is coming out of both hand and rain showers

The Retro-Fit brushed nickel spray shower bar system could have both functions running at the same time due to the vertical pipe not being completely flushed with the top tee. There should be no gap between the top tee and the vertical pipe.
